3D Star Holiday Hanging

Hello!  My project for today is a vintage-looking hanging made using files from My Scrap Chick.  The files I used are:  3D Star Ornament and Whimsical Winter.  I made the rosette myself using a technique I found on the internet, but My Scrap Chick will be coming out with a beautiful set of rosettes soon!  I used a loooong strip of kraft colored cardstock (several glued together) and ran it through my crimper all the way to give it that cardboard effect.  Then used an actual pair of zig-zag scissors...yes...hand cut them!  LOL!...on the outside edges.  Then inked the edges with brown ink to make it look old. I thought it turned out pretty cool looking! The rosette is about 6 1/2" round.

The snowman stands 8 1/2" tall from the top of his hat to the bottom.  The tree 6 1/2" tall. I used wire (see his little stick arms wrapped with wire??), natural twine, old buttons and canvas to embellish everything.  Using lots of brown to to kinda distress it, help it look a little "worn", which is the look I was going for.  I also did a little embossing here and there to add some texture to the cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment on kraft paper and tore around it, inked the edges, then crumpled it a bit.  Adding some highlights and dots with a white gel pen adds a nice touch too!  Everything is hot glued together, so it is super sturdy!

The star is almost 12" big...I made it as big as I possibly could on my mat.  So this really makes a nice hanging possibly on your front door! The canvas rosette is simple to make.  Just fold a rectangle strip accordian style, tie in the middle with string, then glue the edges together.  Add a button in the middle!

Hope you enjoy my project!  ~Kristin

Cup Of "Get Well Soon!"

Here is a fun and very useful project I made using some adorable files from My Scrap Chick!  If someone is feeling down and cruddy this holiday season, make this get-well package for them and cheer them up.  It has chicken soup, tea and tissues!

The My Scrap Chick svg files and sizes I used are here:
Cup of Cocoa and Tea Set---I used the CocoaPocketCard2 svg and sized it as big as I could fit on my mat @ 8.820 wide.
Medical Bears (spoon)--sized to 4.700 wide
Winter Treat Bags ---This is sized to 2.535" wide and fits 3 standard tea bags inside perfectly.  I love this!!

The tag is from 2 different punches (oval and scalloped) and the sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up.  If you haven't inked the edges of your paper projects before, give it a try sometime.  Use a makeup sponge, or they actually make  ink daubers that you can buy, and gently rub the edges of the paper.  It really makes a big difference in how your project looks.

3D Nutcracker

This is a must make project and YES! it is all paper!  The file to make this is from SVGCuts from the Clara's Christmas Eve SVG Kit.  Love how it turned out...easy to assemble...and beautiful!!  I will be making several more for sure~

3D Christmas Sled

I LOVED this sled when I first saw the original idea and post from SVGCuts DT member Theinly (see hers HERE).  Super simple to understand and follow her directions, but lots of cutting.  It is worth it though and such a wow project!!

These are the kits needed to create the beautiful sled:
These are only needed for the embellishments...you can use whatever you want to pretty it up!

Here is mine!

3D Cornucopias (Thanksgiving)

I love these cornucopias from the Happy Thanks SVG Kit from SVGCuts!  I think they turned out pretty and will look nice on my Thanksgiving table.  The leaves are from the Serene Leaves SVG Collection.  These are pretty and I just did a lot of fall color inking around the edges and on top. The cornucopias are simple to make and can be embellished any way!  The stamps are from Punkin' Patch Stamps.

I sprayed these leaves with Perfect Pearls Mist...love this stuff!!!

FAMILY Thanksgiving banner

Here is a pretty Thanksgiving banner I made to use for Fall decorating.  It is from the Thanksgiving Dinner SVG Kit from SVGCuts.

BELIEVE album/journal

From Creative Kuts....a pretty album for adding pictures and journaling.

Snowman docking station for cell phone

This cute file was a freebie from Creative Kuts this week.  Such a cute phone holder!
